Female reproductive organs in a male presenting as hernia uteri inguinale .

Sexual differentiation occurs dut to the presence of the XX or XY chromosome. The presence of the XY chromosome in males allows the dev't of the testis due to the inhibition of the Mullerian duct to develop into uterus and fallopian tubes. Persistent Mullerian Duct Syndrome is a rare form of disorder of sexual differentiation, characterized by the presenceof internal female genitalia in normally virilied males. It is due to the failure of Mullerian duct regression secondary to defects in the synthesis or action of the anti-Mullerian hormone. A persistent Mullerian duct associated with transverse testicular ectopia presenting as hernia uteri inguinakle is extremely rare. In this paper , a case of a 19 yr old male with persistent uteri inguinale is presented.
